Re: Generic Soft Hackle - Grey Pearsalls (9A)
Ron, thanks and good luck of the fly tying event. It sounds like a great gathering on a winter's day. Please let us know how it goes. Fishnkilts, I know what you mean and I have seen plenty of pictures as viewed from the front of the fly but not as viewed from the back of a fly. Not sure why I took ...

The things you do when you really want to tie. Very simple fly that hopefully works for me in the next ...

Re: Mini Me Coachman and Coviello's emerger
Hi Ray, I first went to Canada to fish the Dean River and was fortunate to get this opportunity. What an amazing fishery and area to visit. I did manage to catch a few steelhead, which was a thrilling experience. From there, I went to Japan, which was part work and three days exploring Hokkaido and ...

Ron,
Great report and I am glad the coachman variant worked for you. I have been traveling quite a bit over the last few months and now that I am home, I will catch up with all the posts I missed. Thanks again for a great report.

I am half-way through this book already! It is a great read and I highly recommend it. If you are remotely interested in spey casting for trout, this book is a must have.

Ron,
The changes you made are subtle but it looks great! Let me know what you conjure up when you swing that fly, hopefully soon!

Ron,
Yes, those are both inverting patterns and I use a #8 orientsun streamer hook and a 4.0 mm tungsten inverting bead. When mountain stream fishing, I often go to the dark side.
