when I followed the suggestions offerred up, I stumbled upon http://www.flytyingshop.co.uk/default.asp I corresponded with folks and found they have a langley silk that is a match for the pearsall's #10. Here is their comment : "Yes the Pearsall's 10 ash/smoke and our silk no 10 are as perfect ...

Please, does anyone have a source or know of a good substitue for Pearsall's Gossamer #10 ash silk ?

I don't have any so it is difficult for me to figure out what color is close?

love the fly. i have used sulky threads for a while. I like them a lot for small flies because they are strong and tough. My biggest issue withthem is the nonstandard spool they come on. Does anyone know of a bobbin that will accomodate the taller spool, please? I've cobbled together one using a pie...

please, who makes the possum-merino socks? I have been using smartwool mountaineering model socks and an extra pair of neoprene socks inside my waders, but I am always on the lookout for something better Buffalo gold gloves (made from bison underfur) are the best I have found but they are ridiculous...

check out the No-Pest strip sold by Hot Shot, available in Walmart. a pea sized piece in a sealed bag will kill any creepy crawly or winged insects I have run into. After I had a problem with a grouse skin sprouting crawlies, I routinely treat all new purchases, and leave a piece in the sealed bag. ...
