Re: Bumble variation
Hay thanks for the comments guys. William, I did both. I did slight open turns when I wrapped the hen hackle and I wrapped the thread through the hackle from the back of the thorax area to the head of the fly.

Re: Hare's Ear Brahma Flymph
Yea this is really nice. I have always had trouble tying hackles with a eye like that if it's just a slight upward angle I don't have so much of an issue but with one like this I would. I like the look of the upward hook and someone from this site sent me hooks in this style a while back. Every now ...

Re: Can't sleep
Yes the thunder creek fly is what I was thinking of thanks for reminding me of the name. I really feel like this could be a good pattern I can't wait to try it out. I think this can be fished a bunch of different ways too. Here is the next one drying in the vise. I just dubbed the body a bright pink...

Box switch
I was just thinking it might be fun to meet my brother on the river and tell him to bring just 1 box of flies so he puts everything he might need for the day in the 1 box and when we meet I give him my box I put together for that day and he gives me his. Like a box swap day. Might be frustrating but...

Re: Rhyacophila.
Ok so I used some sticky lead wrapped around the hook shank to fatten it up. I used dark olive nymph skin on the back. Then I used more dark olive ostrich herl on the head. Then some dark green and black sharpie in spots and rubbed with my finger to blend the marker in On back of the fly before addi...
