Re: Turkey tail
You can do text to speech on this site which includes Swedish: http://www.acapela-group.com/ It obviously can't compare to an actual human voice.

Re: Bobwhite and Fox Squirrel Flymph (SBS/Tutorial)
Thanks Hank! When I first started researching cobbler's wax I realized I was going to have to make my own pitch because nobody is making it anymore. Cooking a pot of pine tar for a couple of hours while wearing a respirator is not something you will see on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous&quo...

Re: Bobwhite and Fox Squirrel Flymph (SBS/Tutorial)
To be honest I did do a lot research. I started out by making nearly every wax recipe in fly tying literature. After that it took a lot of trial and error plus a certain amount of study. It's a complex and expensive formula and sometimes I wonder how it ever happened. Without Preben Torp Jacobsen's ...

Re: Bobwhite and Fox Squirrel Flymph (SBS/Tutorial)
Awesome SBS Ray! The color combination of fox squirrel and bobwhite quail is brilliant and should make for a killer fly. Thanks to both Ray and William for the kind words about my wax. It is the culmination of years of work. It's the wax I've always wanted which I finally stumbled upon.

Re: Ideas for thread and other spooled stuff storage
The UNI boxes are certainly overkill for thread. I found them to be a good choice for a collection of real metal tinsel which these days can be a substantial investment..

Re: Hook for the Red Hackle?
Jeff, dyeing never improves on nature. It merely provides what nature doesn't or at least not in abundance.

Re: Hook for the Red Hackle?
Bronze peacock herl has probably always been difficult to source. In addition to Leisenring, other tyers such as Skues and Ogden recommended dyeing peacock herl with magenta dye to get the bronze effect. I have yet to try this but I plan to when the weather warms up a bit.

Re: Hook for the Red Hackle?
Here is a link to some bronze peacock herl: http://feathersmc.com/product/bronze-peacock-herl/. Leisenring's standards were very high and I have never seen any that would meet them. All of the bronze herl I have seen has some green.
