Re: Some killing flies!

Thanks for that..... Beautiful looking hook. I might contact them to see if they have #14 and #16's. I'm just obsessed with vintage stuff, cane rods, series land rovers, vintage British hi-fi equipment, 50's and 60's cylinder lawn mowers!! The list goes on....... I think you can get a cream for that...

Re: Some killing flies!

A bit of a change in conversation; does anyone know where I can get the sneck bend hooks, the square bend jobbies? Fancy tying myself some authentic style spiders and nymphs. Loving this forum so far! Nice bunch here and some facinating articles. Hope to contribute a bit more eventually.

Re: Some killing flies!

A full fried breakfast from me will include my own free range bacon and sausages as well as my own ( my own chicken's) eggs. If served after 10.30 am the same meal is called a mixed grill!! Discovered a new stream this evening. Brownies and sea trout !! Sea trout up to 4lbs. Would have looked a twat...

Re: Some killing flies!

My spiders are usually presented on one of those slate type plates, up stream on a bed of crispy baby salad leaves. With a light dill dressing and some croutons. Or if the customer is a fish, then up stream, dead drift. I try and keep the line short. I use a 7' furled leader (uni) with a hi vis tip ...

Re: Some killing flies!

Thanks guys for your kind words about my fumblings! My descriptions of them are the wrong way round. The top pic is the dry with a coot primary folded wing and the lower is the spider. These are my starter flies , especially if I'm up the mountain. If I see surface action then I go for the dry. 6 tr...

Some killing flies!

image.jpg image.jpg Hi guys, Here are a couple of pics of my most killing flys this season. My apologies for the quality, but there is only so small that you can go with an iPhone 3GS from 2009!! First one is the dark watchet spider from Pritt, and the second, the dry version on a size 16. Hope you...
