both previously mentioned hooks are good, but I prefer this fly (and other North Country patterns) tied on Sneck's, or an up eyed Limerick like the Mustad 3121......just my humble opinion.... Please Dana, send one of those - or both - to Bill. I would love to see the result. dd humblier than you ;)...

the more I look, the more I like this pattern - especially how the shade of the tail(with dark edge), ties into the hackle collar. Really marvelous..
