Re: Hot wire Olive
Awesome fly. Thanks for sharing. I plan to tye some of these and try them on the streams here in New York. I am confident that they will catch fish. I just finished reading one of Sylvester Nemes' books of the weekend, and found that he loved to use dun colored hackle on many of his patterns.

Re: Finally Went Fishing
Congratulations Michael. I am looking forward to doing some fishing, once the creeks improve. We got a ton of rain again last night, so the streams are even higher than they had been over the weekend. Did you take any pictures of your fish? I'd love to see them if you did. Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Artistic JazzFlies
Mark - Can you explain the name of this fly (Flying Trapeeze)? I can't visualize the connection between the fly and the name. Usually, once I see the name, I can see the various elements of the fly. For some reason, this one escapes me. Pretty fly, by the way. The wing feather is breathtaking.

It has gotten much colder again once the storm passed thru. It was spitting snow & ice pellets this afternoon.

Re: Ray's Silk-Bodied Caddis (Green Sedge/Rockworm)
CreationBear - To answer your question, yes, the Pearsall's Stout silk would work nicely. Actually, it will work even better than the Marabou silk because you will not need to mess around splitting the silk strands. The Stout silk comes straight (untwisted), so you can just cut a section off the spo...
