Re: "Bare Knuckle" Snowshoe Rabbit Dubbing
So much more civilized than the method I use. Doug, hare isn't as finicky as it looks, just show it who's boss and you're good; I love the stuff. Our hares up here tend to be a mercurial bunch; one set of feet almost never matches up with the next. An old French dude I met on the Aroostook one day, ...

Re: Hare Brain Emerger
I fish a lot DHE's up here, usually in #14-#16; I like this pattern. God, knows I've got enough rabbits feet hanging around. Great tutorial, Ray.

Re: Tying Wax
Does wax reduce the translucency of silk? Leisenring felt it did because on his tup’s nymph he stressed that the untaxed buttonhole twist body be tied on a bare hook. Re: More stuff
Looked like a very nice upgrade of the system I use now, so I went on their site to purchase one... and saw a $16.00 shipping charge. I'll stick with the homemade net, thanks.

Re: A little time on the water and a thank you
Every now and again, I drag out the old Fenwick FF856 and have a go. It always makes me think I need to try a newer glass rod. Then, Alan (Brktrt) posts up stuff with his 'Cane and Silk' glass rod and I'm convinced that the sun will not rise again until I have one. Beautiful pictures, Boarmountain. ...

Re: Vole popsicle
No voles in the freezer, but as long as I label them bigly, my wife doesn't mind the occasional woodcock or woodchuck alongside her lamb chops. I've got a couple of ermine in there as well; although those tend to irritate her...

Fantastic hackle work, Norm. I like the hook choice; it puts one in mind of a less leggy version of the dreaded 200R.

Re: Dette Flymph Tutorial
I love this pattern. The whip finish technique is a new one to me; I'm going to have to learn how to do it.
