There is a new copy on eBay now for $26.95 + $4.95 shipping.
I find that it is almost always easy to beat amazon pricing.

Not anymore.
It's on my coffee table.
Thanks, that filled one more hole in my "Catskills Collection"
Still looking for that elusive Darbee.

Re: Ephemera and Semperfli silk threads
I know a few rod builders that turned me onto Kimono silks. They like the smoothness and translucent sheen when wrapping guides on the cane stuff they build. They also like it better than Pearsall's because of its consistent diameter and the occasional kink you find in Pearsall's that would cause it...

Re: UV
I've been following this conversation to see if I missed some of the hype over the years. I agree that in murky waters fluorecsent and UV does make a difference in certain conditions. To answer your question, I would say color is the first reason to keep body sections separate. The belly...

Re: New Book/"The Wanderings of a Mountain Fly Fisher" by Ed Ostapczuk ("Esopus Ed")
I have Ed's new book too and took it to Summerfest at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum to have him sign it. Unfortunately, Ed was not there but I did get several of the featured tyers in Mike Valla's book Favorite Flies for The Catskills to sign my copy. Anyway, I did enjoy following Ed's ...
