I have Ed's new book too and took it to Summerfest at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum to have him sign it. Unfortunately, Ed was not there but I did get several of the featured tyers in Mike Valla's book Favorite Flies for The Catskills to sign my copy. Anyway, I did enjoy following Ed's ...

So what did you use for the shell back?
Does it matter if you are putting a finish on the body?
I like the segmentation it creates with the ribbing and looks dead on for a drowned spinner
I'm definitely gonna add that to my spinner box.

Now thats what I would call a suggestive pattern.
I read caddis in the subject line, Dubbn saw cranefly in the picture, and I see a cress bug with an egg sack.
Fish that in a Limestone creek that has a bit of vegetation and you'll put a hurt on the trout population.
