Re: Some Salmon & Sea-Run Softies

Jeff, These just keep getting better and better. If your serious about a test run, I'd be happy to swing them through a couple of runs, but it may be a while. We are experiencing winter pacific storm after winter pacific storm. All of the rivers are blown out, running high and chocolate milk brown. ...

Re: Woodcock and Silver Wire - Submerged

William, Impressive is the word that fits your post. Well chosen, Lance. First of all, your flies are just drop dead gorgeous, as usual. Your very impressive (there's that word again) set up for photographing flies, dry, wet and submerged is a treat to behold. I can foresee you being swamped with fl...

Re: Some Salmon & Sea-Run Softies

Jeff,

Purple is a staple steelhead color all right, and that one of your looks like a killer. Have to admit though, the Gold and Purple looks like a winner swung from a 14 foot two hand rod. Great dressings, Mate.

Re: Wax Question

I try to keep a pea sized ball of wax on my index finger, white wax on the right, cobbler's on the left. Once the wax gets nice and warm, keeping it in place doesn't seem to be an issue.

Re: Felt paged wallet OK for all soft hackles?

Jaydawg, I agree with Jeff completely. That is a fine looking wallet and good looking flies as well. The wallet does need some patina on it from being well used, being touched with fingers with a bit of mucellin on them, still damp from releasing a fine fish, etc. May I ask where you found such a wa...

Jeff,

Superb fly dressing there, Mate. Ray is dead on about your proportions and aesthetics. Very nicely done.

Re: Playing with CDC

I would bet that thing will go crazy in the water. Hope you tied a bunch because I can see the fish eating that thing up.

Re: Tan Grizzly

Lance,

Really nice. The color palette is perfect, at least on my computer screen, excellent proportions, wonderful hook choice. I too, like the pre-tie view of the materials. That is a lovely feather. Nicely dressed.

Re: Pre-rigged team of flies

I was given several of the premade Beer-Mats that Donald wrote about. They are tops in my books for carrying teams of flies.

Re: Ostrich herl body SH

Gig, Nice one, Mate. I can't see a fish passing on this fly as a meal. I use Ostrich herl for the thorax on a couple of flies, but you take it to a whole new level. I'll be playing with several of the colors I have on hand. Well done.
