Re: Bracken Clock

Coch - y - bondhu is one of my favorite hackle types - I have 16 or 17 capes that I have collected over the years. Personally, I prefer a very dark red, with more black than red on the feather barbule. The BRITs however use a much lighter shade for their beetle patterns. If anybody needs some in a c...

I am fortunate That one of the members on this board sent me half a dozen snowshoe hare fee that he harvested late this past winter-they are the real thing: A lo...

Re: Nature Spirit's Snowshoe Rabbit Foot Dubbing

John - Where did you order this dubbing? I "need" some. Goregous fly, by the way. I think the body texture will capture lots of air bubbles and provide a very slow decent when it sinks. Ideal characteristics for emerger patterns. Ha - Right? We all need more dubbing............And hackle,...

Re: Hook rants and other nonsense

i should have been clear: I believe they are of the same origin. And yes, the hook is by far the least expensive component of an anglers regalia, BUT - I just don't like to overpay for things. Trends being what they are, the packaging gets smaller as the price reaches the sky. 20 hooks for $7.95 :o ...

Re: Hook rants and other nonsense

More of my nonsense comments: 1) Dana, don't give narcobuddy +2, it will go to his head. 2) Hen capes for soft hackles - I feel Collin's hen capes are the best by far and they are more difficult for me to find. 3) Other types of bird feathers - today, I buy from BRF or Cookshill for quality soft ha...
