# 370 Teriyaki. Yes, that's it!! I got mine from Superior Threads, a 220 yard spool, forgot what I paid.
John, Phil has already dumped a bunch of wire on me. I don't want to be pushy

Re: Is This............Pearsall's 6b (Sherry Spinner)?
I've followed this search for Sherry Spinner silk with interest, as I, too, have done some searching for the elusive item. Another forum member at one time suggested looking at Kimono Silk Thread as an option to the dwindling supplies of Pearsall's. So, after doing lots of careful comparison I've fo...

Re: 10 Years of Davie McPhail on Youtube
Thanks a lot for posting the link to the Davie videos. He really makes it look easy, doesn't he? I like the Davie's Spider and I'm planning to tie a bunch of those in a few sizes. I think they will work well here in the ditches & runoffs of Wisconsin for our paltry spotted dace, suckers & bu...

Re: Fox Squirrel dubbing
John, that's a nice, clean squirrel skin. Have fun with that one!! So far, here in Southwest Wisconsin, we are topping out over 15" of snow. Most of this arrived in 2-4 inch incremenst and subsequently melted. A long time ago, I live in Syracuse & then Rochester. The snowfalls were, indeed,...

Re: Pearsalls Color Chart
I've been searching for silks to substitute Pearsall's colors, too.
One I've found that is a VERY close sub for 6B Sherry Spinner is Kimono Silk thread #370 Teriyaki.
Take a look at it on line & see what you think.

Re: Is This............Pearsall's 6b (Sherry Spinner)?
I wrap the guides on my bamboo rods with Classic Chestnut & I think that is the color you posted. IIRC the Sherry Spinner is slightly darker in color. It's difficult to tell them apart without having the spools in hand. Wish it was the Sherry Spinner. THAT would be a nice find.

Re: New Pearsall's Silk Substitute
Re: Silk sizes. A couple of rod makers tested Pearsall's Gossamer, YLI 100 & others. In a 1/2 inch wrapping, Pearsall's Gossamer did it in 108 turns, YLI 100 in 103 turns. The YLI is ever so slightly thicker than the Pearsall's Gossamer. Pearsall's Naples is 87 wraps for the half inch, so it's m...
