Hook -Dohiku 611, size 14
Bead - Purple Glass
Thread - Fl. Orange, UTC70
Body - Purple wool yarn provided by Mataura mayfly (Jeff)
Thorax - NZ Possum also provided by Jeff
Collar - Dun Hen

Image

I tied some with brown hen as well. The Dun is prettier, but I would bet the brown catches more trout for me on my local waters.

Nice work Wayne, good to see some of the materials being shared around. Will be driving through the town with the woollen mill today- but will not be stopping to buy any more yarn today. ;)
I can see Rainbow trout hammering these.
I have just finished a lot of nymphs and wee wets with fluro orange in them, hit them with a black light and they are like neon signs! Did not have the time to photograph them, but you might see some soon.

The Purple yarn is kicking my tail. This was my fifth attempt. Not satisfied, but will keep trying. Thanks for the comments Jeff, and John.

I will be very interested to see/hear your results with this little gem, Wayne.

It didnt take a very big fish to bend that Dohiku 611 hook straight.
