Bead Caddis Larva

Hook: TMC 2488H, Size #14
Thread: Head - Uni 8/0 black; Underbody - Griffith Sheer 14/0, olive (I would use the olive for everything in the future)
Hackle: Prairie chicken
Bead: Silver lined green plastic
Body: Midge Tubing, chartreuse
Thorax: Single strand peacock herl from eye
The bead bore was quite a bit larger than the hook shank diameter, so I built up a lump of thread where I wanted the bead to end up. Then I tied in and wrapped the hackle before coating the thread lump with Magic Glue, pushed the bead up on it and let the glue dry for several minutes. Then tied in the body material, took the thread up behind the bead, and spiral wrapped the midge tubing forward. Tied it off behind the bead, added a few wraps of peacock herl, and finished up with a whip finish behind the bead.
