I am only using the Spider Thread on small flies as well.
Looking into Nano Silk, I know I will probably never buy any after learning it is just a fancy name for small GSP. I use GSP or Kevlar on many of my saltwater flies or for spinning hair.
Roadkill, even without using UV resin, the Nano looks very translucent on the hook. It is great for small patterns when bulk is an issue.
Is it worth the price tag that comes with it? I doubt it. Had it not been given to me, I doubt I would have bought any.
It is fun to play with, and has some merit.
Being Kevlar, it will eat up brass bobbin holders quickly. I wonder how ceramic tubed bobbin holders will hold up against it? Better, I am sure, but probably not indestructible.

Wayne - Thank you for posting that video link. What a great addition. I had not seen that tip before. Very useful way of restoring a bobbin holder.
Learned something new...

Nano Silk is not Kevlar (poly-para-phenelyne-terephthalamide and won't melt like GSP). Nano Silk (GSP)is stronger than Kevlar...

Our craft has so many options, choices and variables; yet we all come together and embrace these differences. Too bad the rest of the world doesn’t tie flies and fish.......
