Ray, Howdy;

Making do with what's at hand ..... 8-)

The engineer in you really shows, Looks like you
not only have inch markers on the base of the station
but you've a spare laying on the edge of the black material
(floor of the station). ;)

:lol: Good eyes Hank. :D

It's funny. As I learn to tye certain patterns, I tend to measure the length of the body materials, to get a feeling for how much I need. I have rulers drawn on my cutting mat (the white thing under the tying station is one of those very thin teflon sheets used to keep from contaminating your cutting board in the kitchen. They are thin, light and make a nice background under a tying vice.) The metal ruler is used as a cutting straight edge for cutting foam strips. I was showing the kids how to tye foam hopper patterns. They loved picking out the colors of the foam, and rubber legs. One little girl somewhere has a bright pink and yellow foam hopper. Not very realistic, but she had a big smile when it was finished. I look forward to doing the Rushford Kids tying event again next summer.

Ray. I would like to hire you.

Situation: Single dad (=no enormous stash of ladies shoes in the house) with two kids and a 175 square meter house.
Problem: Needed to move myself out of my tying room because of all the material. I now do my tying work in the other part of the house. The travelling time between this "new" table to the "old" tying room (where all the material is) is approx 5-10 sec...potentially hours could be saved...daily
Problem2: Travelling and tying. Do not want to talk about it...a bought a bigger car...but no...that was not a solution.
Solution: Buy your self a ticket to Swe. I'm a decent cook.

See ya

You just need to teach your kids to fetch. Tell them it will be fun, and if they want dinner, they need to be quick about it.

(It didn't work with my kids, but maybe your kids listen better. :D )
