Bill,
I am trying to imagine how much time it took you to put this SBS together.
Partridge hackle sizing is such a famous tying hassle, it is invaluable to have yet another strategy for dealing with it.
What a gift to your Forum friends. Thank you!
You remind us that still shots can rival video for helpfulness and clarity. Except maybe you need a foot-pedal shutter trigger for documenting two-handed stages of the demo. :D

"foot-pedal shutter trigger"?

I just use my kids. They have been very helpful with a few of my SBS series.

I didn't know foot-pedal shutter trigger existed. I love the range of things I learn on this forum. Very cool.

There is a time-delay auto shutter release feature on my camera, but I haven't figured out how to use it yet ;) .

Ray- I've never seen a foot-actuated release, but I can activate the shutter with my mouth on my cable release.
But I like the idea of putting one of the kids to work. :)

Ray, Howdy;

Kids are also known as foot actuated, your foot , seat of their britches...

Very cool indeed Bill. I can see myself using this technique. As someone mentioned, this will make many more feathers on my partridge skin more usable.

Thank you Bill for this tutorial. I tried the technique once but was not satisfied with it. Now I know what I did wrong: too less practice!!

Bill, I believe I am getting the hang of your technique. Not much to do this New Years Morning, so I sat down to do some practice .

One of the larger feathers from my Partridge skin. M patterns are extremely rough around the edges right now, but are getting better. Thank you so much for the SBS. It really helped.

What a wonderful tutorial!

Very clear and the results speak for themselves.

I do have to admit, though, after step 5 I probably would have just wrapped the body and let it go at that.

Lookin' really good, Wayne. And Chris -- believe it or not, that thought did cross my mind. Not while I was actually tying the fly and taking photos, but later on while I was editing.
