Yep, I'm surprised I haven't posted "lymph" more than I have.

Bummer about the tip Ray. Big fish would have been a better story. :D but appreciate the lessons learned.

I know mine came with instructions. I can't remember if the instructions came with the rod or leader though. I wonder if they stopped sending these. Poor decision if they did.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Ray,
I had the exact same experience a few years ago when I snapped the tip off a brand new 11' Iwana. My chagrin was magnified somewhat by the fact that I had spent the previous two hours hiking into a back country stream that wasn't exactly close to home. Having to hike out and drive home without getting to do any fishing rather soured that day to say the least! Thank you for sharing your "crisis."

Now, seems to me it might be easy to have a printed out A4 sheet, similar to your above "how to" included with each new rod that leaves the shop floor
I can't speak for the other company, but I send out three sheets of "how to" with every rod that goes out the door. If anyone would like a copy, just ask. Don't be shy.

Chris - Thank you very much for sending the instructions. The tips are very helpful.

I have since found an instructional video on You Tube, which may have prevented the breakage issue I experienced. I encourage other members to watch this video, if your are interested in trying Tenkara fishing.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO:
If your a Tenkara newby, I highly recommend watching this video of Tenkara knots.
