video - Shuttlecock Caddis

Post by Hans Weilenmann » Wed Feb 19, 2014 3:19 pm

The Shuttlecock Caddis is an effective variation on the standard Shuttlecock design. This Caddis Emerger is fished either in tandem with a sub-surface pattern, such as the Backstop Caddis, or by itself during a caddis hatch - generally to devastating effect.

Hans, Howdy;

Very nicely tyed fly.
Have gotten so used to your use of the 12/0 it almost
looked like your were using a ship's hawser to tie this
one yet you still maintained a thin crisp yet spiky profile,
well done.

Hans - Fantastic tutorial. I loved the wingbud technique (pulling the CDC butts down and trimming at an upwards angle). Brilliant. Lovely pattern. Nice and buggy.
