A cool October Caddis pattern from Olympic Peninsula tyer James Garrett. Simple to tie, a few different ways to skin it - I went with the pheasant rump hackle because I love the stuff, and I was pulling aftershafts off the skin anyway; partridge can be used for the hackle, as well.

hook - Dai Riki 799 #6
thread - Danville 6/0 black
body - chenille orange
hackle - pheasant rump
wing - aftershaft feathers

mash barb, start thread and wrap back to bend; strip end of chenille and tie in

wrap body; tie off/trim

prep rump feather (barbs should extend to/just past bend); tie in by tip

sweep fibers back while wrapping; tie off/trim

select a matched pair of aftershaft feathers, measure for length (tips a bit past bend); tie in as a tented wing

trim butts, whip, SHHAN
