Original had a dubbed head, aftershaft gives a different look; your choice.

hook - TMC 200R #10 (I know; but they look so nice)
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail/body - woodduck flank
underbody - Ice Dub hare's ear
hackle - partridge
head - pheasant aftershaft dyed brown

mash barb, start thread; leave tag end long and wrap to point above point

dub thread/dub body to 3/4 mark

prep a woodduck feather (fibers about 1.5 times hook length); tie in by tip

Image

Image

stroke fibers back and wrap; tie off/trim

Image

Image

gather fibers at the rear, take a single wrap with the tag end of thread, push the fibers towards a bit; take a few more wraps to secure, whip, trim thread, SHHAN

Image

Image

create thread loop

Image

prep aftershaft, insert in loop, spin

Image

moisten fingers/stroke fibers back; take a couple wraps then let it hang

Image

Image

prep partridge; tie in by tip

Image

Image

stroke fibers back and wrap; tie off/trim

Image

finish wrapping aftershaft; tie off/trim, whip, SHHAN

Marvelous pattern and tutorial. I love the shrouded body technique. The final pattern is very graceful looking.

Very well done. Thank you for sharing this with us. Very much appreciated.
