Minimum materials, maximum loops; I'm guessing a caddis of some sort. Original calls for white-tipped goose for the wings; got none of that but did find some mallard that provides a similar effect (he does mention that all grey works fine, too).
hook - Dai Riki 075 #8
thread - MFC 8/0 sand
body/head - pheasant aftershaft feathers
hackle - guinea
wing - mallard
mash barb; start thread, wrap to bend, create the first (of several) loop

insert aftershaft in loop; spin

wrap, tie off/trim thread loop

repeat, as needed (3 used on this hook size) 'till you reach the 3/4 mark

prep guinea feather, tie in by tip, take a few wraps; tie off/trim

snip a section of mallard quill (gap width) from matching feathers

tent over the hook (tips just past the bend); tie in, trim butts

one more time with the loop/aftershaft

wrap, tie off/trim, whip finish, SHHAN
