Last night my neighbor brought over a pair of pheasant wings wondering if I could use them. I thanked him for them and they are attractive and even have some very beautiful small hackled feathers.
My question is, I have never heard or seen anyone use pheasant wings. Is there a good reason for that? Or are they useful?

One use I know of is for a tenkara fly. The feather used is the alula (kenbane in Japanese).

That was a great video! I never thought of tying in peacock herl like he did. Thank you for sharing that.

Neat stuff. Had to look up alula on Wikipedia, learned they are a natural feat of flight engineering, creating turbulence over the wing to allow the bird to angle up its wings and swoop down while maintaining lift

I see them almost everyday and after 15 years, I'm still in awe when I watch them hunt.

pheasant wing quill feathers can be used on a number of ray bergman and ken sawada winged wet flies

You can subitute hen pheasant feathers for many soft hackle patterns.
Our late friend Alan ( small stream reflections) did it all the time.
