Pheasant Tail Spider (Almost)

I was trying to tie a pheasant tail spider, but ended up breaking the thread as I was forming the whip finish. It could have been a nice fly, but it looks like I will have to start over. :oops:

Nah. Super glue on the thread after you finish wiggling it thru the hackle. A couple of wraps and trim it close.

Might be something for next time.

The is plenty of thread there to do a couple of double half-hitches behind the eye. A drop of head cement after and you're good to go. That fly is way to fine to waste.

Ray, not sure how I'm just seeing this. I love this fly on that hook. Nice proportions and the tails are a cool effect. Those hackle pliers hold great, but I can't quite get the rotation to control hackle twist with those. I'm just stuck with my JDorrin tear drops. But the idea is really appealing.
