I saw a fly a couple of days ago, very similar to your fly, that was recommended when the needle flies are active. It was tied with these naturals in mind. Can't recall where I found it. Made me think about what I quoted from Geoffrey Bucknall the other day; "If the size is right, then it's all about behaviour". Whether true or not, that kind of thinking might boost one's confidence.

hand out the ones that don't work for you to someone else or gift the stream-side trees
and other vegetation with new ornaments ... :roll: .
