Wickham's Fancy (variation)

Used McPhail's downwing sedge version as the base; swapped in a duck (female redhead used here) back feather for the mallard quill segments, just for a little different look. Although technically a dry, that hackle's not going to keep a ribbed, tinsel body up top for long.

hook - Dai Riki 075 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - brown hackle
rib - x-small wire gold
body - mylar tinsel gold
body hackle - brown (undersize by 1)
wing - duck back feather
front hacke - brown

Nice fly!!

I would like to fish it damp as an emerger trailing a soft hackle.
