A small mod to the original which is Ray's neat take on the Mrs. Simpson type fly.

underbody .030 non-tox
thread - Danville 6/0 white
tail - calftail
rear wing - partridge
body - Ice Dub hare's ear
mid-wing - partridge
gills - Arizona Simi-seal red
collar - woodduck flank

Thanks for the nod, Scott. Very kind of you. Beautifully tyed and photographed. I love the addition of the woodduck soft hackle collar, and the way you've dubbed the "gills". Both improvements, in my opinion.

I hope you fish this and let me know how it works for you in the future. ;)

This is a fairly refined way to fish a menhaden- or shad-shaped baitfish, isn't it. Could be a striper slayer.
