The swept-back wing gives it a racy look. Sorta like a micro streamer. It could easily pass for a tiny fry, as well as an insect. Very impressionistic.

Where’d ya get the redhead feathers? They are harder to come by than teal.

Ray,

Thanks. When I was tying in the wing, I kinda overshot the runway and had it a bit longer than intended but liked the fry-like effect you noted so instead of repositioning I left it as is. I'll probably tie a few more with wings this length and a bit shorter for a more traditional look.
I got a redhead drake and hen skin about 10 yrs ago on Ebay. Lots of cool feathers; I'm just now discovering how useful they are.

Regards,
Scott
