Putting the DIY jay to use.

hook - Mustad 3908 #8
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - golden pheasant tippets
rib - oval tinsel silver
body - dubbing black
hackle - black
collar - Mearn's quail dyed blue (2 packs Koolaid Ice Blue Raspberry, 1/4tsp blue food coloring, i cup water)
wing - redhead flank

You'd have to be more of a jay connoisseur than I am to tell the difference. Good looking fly.
In ancient times, cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this.
