Beautiful trout, Ariel. I love a pink fly too. I sent one very similar to the to Hank last week.

Ray, Howdy;

Haven't fished the bubble-gum fly yet. Will let you know when I do...

CONGRATZ Ariel.....Seems you had a really nice trip up to the Owens and Hot Creek. Got your PM, and i got the email reply i was waiting for this morning. i just didn't wanna take anything for granted, but i was reassured that i can do any of "The Fly Fishing Show(s)" that i want to do. So i'm gonna do Somerset next Jan. and skip Denver for 2012.....then for 2013 i think we'll get out your way and do both Pasadena and Pleasenton. So let's plan on fishing Hot Creek when we're out there, if that sounds good to you. It's quite a ways off, but we can plan ahead that way. Hopefully you can help us find a good lodge to stay at.
Nice fish you caught.....hope your clients had a good time. ;)

Thankfully my clients had such a good time they booked me for the next day and we explored another small creek. The Owens was about 100˚with the wind blowing up something else. Where we fished, at 8000', it was around 45˚ in the morning and got to about 75˚ in the afternoon. Perfect. A small amount of wind, but nothing to harsh. My new 3'10 Xa Allen rod has been ordered and should be here for my next outing. Report to follow. Next, I'm going to look for a used Tenkara and give those a try. Since I'm not a size freak, these small stream fish, usually under 15" are a joy to find and catch. I must admit I haven't put on a "cast of flies" yet... just the single.

Hank want to see a photo of the BG!

Willow! 2013 is just around the corner when friends are on the way. Can't wait.

I looked at this photo and you can't tell but she is covered up, protecting herself from the sun: Large brim, full face buff, long sleeve over wear, gloves. Skin Cancer...ain't nothing can cure it at the moment...but they're working on that problem with some really great stuff like: BRAF and E7080.
