INFORMATIONAL POSTS

Ladies and Gentlemen,
It has become my perception that with the great informational posts to this forum, it is inevitable that we will get conflicting views and different experiences. One should expect this if posting information of this type. One should realize that not everyone's perception is the same. It appears, from my standpoint, that these differences in opinion regarding such topics MUST be done with the greatest respect, otherwise they quickly deteriorate into arguments rather than educated discussions, which is what they should be.

I do not want to lock topics or interfere with educated, respectful discussions. I do not appreciate vulgarities because they inevitably lead to an outright disrespect of the people taking part in the discussion. Posts that are specifically made to confound the issues being discussed are also uncalled for. If one has specific information relevant to the subject or has reasonable and respectful questions on the topic, these are most welcomed. If one can present scientific proof to support their ideas, that's good, but continually trying to refute such evidence is, IMHO, pointless. The experiments were done and we should accept them as they stand. This does not mean you can not continue to believe what you believe. There are times, however, when admitting we might be wrong or into something new makes us all the more viable as a resource of information. If one can not post in the spirit of exchanging knowledge and looking at these exchanges as a learning experience, and this can not be done, reasonably, then please refrain from posting.

I've said it before, there is more than one way to skin a cat, tie a fly or catch a trout. It is time we understand that what we believe is not necessarily what everyone believes, no matter how much we debate it. Our view is not the only view. If you post information based upon your view or experience or even experimentation, it's open to question. If someone presents sound information contrary to your experience, it can be discussed without the ongoing idea you are not the only one that knows the answers. Stop and consider, you might learn something.

Thanks,
Mark
