Bob,

What style did you tye your flies? Are they tyed as simple soft hackle (thread body, with hackle next to the hook eye), or more like Stewart's spiders?

Have you tried Magpie scalp feathers? I am going to tye some with magpie and some with jackdaw, to see if the hackle makes a difference.

Ray they are like a Stewart's hackle. The bodies were tyed with a touch dubbed body of different materials. Some had mole, some suity dub that Lawrence Finney sent me. I didn't tye any with just a thread body except for the 22's..
For hackle I also used some black bird and magpie. I may have also tied with some coot.
