It just dawned on me that we've a member that grew up in County Sligo.
He's taken up writing lately, but I'll send him an email and perhaps he'll
be inclined to offer some tips and ideas of where you might go to seek
some trout .

O'hara's bridge, about a mile from my house. There is a great pool on the other side of this bridge, excellent place for a spot of nymphing. My best trout landed here was just over the lb mark. Freak weather conditions in the pic shows a cloudless sky!!

My pride and joy!! 1966 series 2a land rover. Ideal fishing vehicle for getting to those hard to reach places!!
I hope the pic are ok, as I only have an old iPhone 3 and the camera is a bit suspect!!

Now tell the truth, a cloudless day in NW Ireland? Did you use "photoshop"?
Got to respect a man willing to drive the best 4X4 by far when it is a soft top. Last one I had was a '71 2A, last of the fold. Mind you, I see your darling has had the odd panel replacement (off side outer guard) for later Series 3 part........ or at least a later air intake fitted.

Eagle eyes for sure!! On document it's a 2a but various "additions" have been made over the years. 50 next year and in daily use

Dave, there would not be too many Landies getting around of the Series 2-3 vintage that have not had a few new additions. The great thing is donor parts from any year starting 1958 through to 1984 pretty much bolt straight on!
One thing about Land Rovers, they do teach their owners a fair bit about mechanical tinkering. From memory there was always something needing done. Lot happier at 50 MPH than 70 MPH, but the dual carriageway is not where they show their true colours. Reach for the yellow or red knob levers and they shine like no other.
