What fur have you used in the thorax?

I used a bit of natural mole.

Forgot about this post!

Got me thinking about the Kit Muskrat skins that were previously mentioned on page two. Also a great sub for water vole/rat. Bill is right though, they're hard to come by in that mottling. If you're vigilant enough you can snag some from Craig Matthews out in West Yellowstone. Once or twice a year he'll offer some, they go quick though, for obvious reasons ;)

Try here for kit muskrat www.flytyingfurs.com/products.htm

Just purchased a skin of excellent condition. Also purchased other items of equal quality.

Yeah. Thanks, Joe. I hit that link and almost spent a lot of money. I'll definitely save that link. Good score.

To continue the discussion, here are some Waterhen Bloa's I tied up the other evening along with a pine squirrel skin.

Now that I see the picture of the squirrel skin, I probably should have gotten closer for a better picture.

Very nice.
That pine squirrel skin is going to last you a LONG time.
How hard can it be?
