Had to use some of the yarn so generously passed out to participants in the last swap.(Thanks, William) Used one strand of the Lion #403 dubbed lightly with Olive Possum. Little sloppy with the head, but I don't think the fish will care.
Hook - Not sure, was laying on the bench, looks like #12
Thread - Griffith 14/0 Grey
Body - One strand of Lion #403 Yarn, dubbed with Olive Possum
Hackle -Golden Olive Badger Hen

You are a wonderful source of new ideas for me, Rodger. First the double touch-dubbed loop and now this -- the concept of putting dubbing on yarn had never crossed my mind. Very cool indeed!

I have to admit, y'all's yarn flies are starting to grow on me--nice tying. :)

This wouldn't have occurred to me either. I've brought the tying thread back down the yarn body toward the bend and added a light dubbing to create a thorax that allows the yarn to show beneath....but nothing like this. Nicely done. I'm glad you like the yarn. I especially like that yarn as well. It works well using however many strands of the yarn you select and always has a general hares ear quality to it. Great post and a really nice looking fly.
