clark dubbing block meets blue flyer kangaroo patch
I've had this beautiful artefact proudly sitting on display since Will kindly sent it to me. It's been screaming to be used and I finally had a crack at it. Having how to info and the video links has been very helpful, thank you
I had a small patch of Kangaroo fur which I decided to try. The fur is very soft and absorbs water/becomes water logged easily.
Spun on purple pearsals, it was a fun exercise and I look forward to spinning more brushes in the future.
I'll post some images of the flies when I get around to using the card. I'm forever in your debt for my beautiful dubbing block Will, thank you buddy...

Delicately done, Karsten. You are a quick learner, but that's no surprise.

These are beautiful, mate. Looking forward to seeing what you do with these. Lovely sparse tapers.

Nicely done!
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

next time I'm out driving off the main road I'll check for a roadkilled kangaroo. Closest I've seen so far is a black and white kangaroo like thing. It has a strong smell also.
Very nicely done dubbing. You definitely don't have a heavy hand when applying dubbing.

Thanks for the encouragement
I'll try to post some finished bugs on the weekend.
zen leecher - I'm not sure if black & white smelly roadkill qualifies as a sub for kangaroo?
You're a brave man if you go there, certainly would mask the smell of human scent, trout might like it.
One way to find out

If trout liked it, they wouldn't call catching nothing "getting skunked."fly_fischa wrote: certainly would mask the smell of human scent, trout might like it.
Actually, there's some very useable fur there.
