Just ordered a packet of sneck hooks from kenhooks. Size 12, a little large but they'll have to do. Also there is an eBay listing for #16's in the states. Found it on eBay Norway!! Only trouble is what I think, is totally excessive postal charges of 28 USD for shipping a small pack of hooks to Ireland. I'd love to buy them but I ain't pay that for postage!!

Here is the listing

Funny, according to the link the shipping is free, so why is it so expensive to ship "across the pond"!!

I can attest, Hank is good for this. Has helped me out before in a very similar way. ;)
All he asks in return is a bottle of Midleton Very Rare........ :P

Mind you, put that link up here and there may not be any hooks left soon.......

Another option Dave, do some homework on re-working hooks. Lots of guys do so to get a certain vintage look to modern Salmon irons. It would be possible to re-work the bend of a round bend or Limerick hook into a sneck bend and re temper it. You should be able to bake them in your kitchen oven, like retempering small springs. Might work okay for the little fishes, not so sure on the 4lb sea run ones.......

Hmm.... Metalergy....I think I'll take the Hank option!!
If you could Hank that would be brilliant. Just get me one pack of 200 hooks and I'll PayPal you the cash for hooks and postage. Geez, what a great forum!! Glad I stumbled across it!
Going back to my new river tomorrow (Saturday) I'm going to bring my 9' #5/6 cane rod just in case. A friend of mine who I fish with caught a 3 1/2lb sea trout there this morning swinging a wet fly, a butcher I think. I want some of that action..
Thanks again Hank for your kind offer
