Some killing flies!

A full fried breakfast from me will include my own free range bacon and sausages as well as my own ( my own chicken's) eggs. If served after 10.30 am the same meal is called a mixed grill!!
Discovered a new stream this evening. Brownies and sea trout !! Sea trout up to 4lbs. Would have looked a twat standing on the bank side with a broken #3 cane rod. Note to self " bring bigger rod next time"

Ruard - I think one of the reasons my company sends me all over the world is because I try so many different foods. I think it is a case of "Send Ray. He will eat anything."

PS - I don't always like them. But I enjoy trying different things. It is surprising how many times they are pleasant, once you get over the shock of what your eating. I've eaten some really weird things thru the years...

A bit of a change in conversation; does anyone know where I can get the sneck bend hooks, the square bend jobbies? Fancy tying myself some authentic style spiders and nymphs. Loving this forum so far! Nice bunch here and some facinating articles. Hope to contribute a bit more eventually.

Dave, these guys are probably your best bet for the vintage look, but I do not think they do them in a size lower than #12.

They do have some nice Limerick bend vintage hooks though, the 1575 Mustad is a nice one, strong enough for your 4lb Searun trouts, but a bit dull and require a hook hone rubbed on the point.

Thanks for that..... Beautiful looking hook. I might contact them to see if they have #14 and #16's. I'm just obsessed with vintage stuff, cane rods, series land rovers, vintage British hi-fi equipment, 50's and 60's cylinder lawn mowers!! The list goes on....... I think you can get a cream for that at the pharmacy!!

Yep, its called Germolene!
Mother in law swears by it, cures anything.

Think with Kenhook, what they advertise on the website is what they have, but cannot hurt to ask. They do the Limerick bend 1575 down to size #19 and there is a 160 C (?) from memory that is a short shank wet fly hook- not unlike a kamasan B175, but straight eye. I know they do sneck bends in #8-10-12, but I do not think smaller.
If you start your abdomen above the point of the hook, rather than the barb you can tie size 14-16 flies on size 12 hooks, kind of Clyde style.

Nice bit of lawn work by the way. Ours are currently resting under a snow blanket!
