Dave, Here's a quick pic of my version of the Water Cricket in Primrose.
Image

The hook is a Daiichi 1640, size 14; hackle, like yours is Starling, Primrose Pearsalls Gossamer for the body, ribbed with black Pearsalls.

Troutmaddave, Howdy;

Ron does that to folks sometimes. As well as a few others on here.
Not to worry though, they'll help ya over the rough patches and
are more than willing to help you along the entire way. Oh! Ask tons
of questions you'll get bushels of responces.

Dave, Thanks, Mate. I tied that one a couple years back before my eyes went bad on me. Dressing a fly is much more difficult now. What Hank said. The folks here love to offer constructive criticism, helpful hints and flattery.

Like the sound of the flattery bit! My eyes are in a shocking state. I wear specks all the time and I have two prescriptions, one for daily wear and another for reading etc. when I'm at the vice I have to wear both pairs!!
What a pain, gives me headaches.
Went to a country fair yesterday at the local estate house, Lissadell House. Bought two books from the estate collection that furnishes the book/antique shop. First book; The Way of a Trout With A Fly by G.E.M Skues....€5.00. Second book; The Science of Fly Fishing for Trout by Fred.G.Shaw,F.G.S first edition 1925...€8.00
Great book , very happy with them

So, the way the Euro is behaving of late, they are like US$2 books!? :P
Score!!
Looks like next time over I may have to sneak South of the border and ride your coat tails to find all the good second hand book stores and car boot (trunk for most of you) sales!

The next time your over I would insist that you stay at my house and we could fish some of my beats. I have a 36' trailer in my garden that guests stay in

Thank you very much for the offer Dave, might just have to look in to that some more when the time comes. ;)
Hope you cook a good fry for breakfast. One with black pudding and at least three varieties of bread? Fish all day until dark on one of those. ;)
Oh- and I may get wobbly kneed around your Landie. You may even find me sitting in the drivers seat on odd occasions, day dreaming and pretend driving reliving past memories.

Answer blood sausage. Hmmm. Interesting. Something I've never tried, but now on my "must try" list. :D
