Doc, if I have not offered a very hearty welcome, I apologize. Welcome and thanks so much for your input. Looking forward to hearing more from you. (If I did offer a welcome earlier, you'll have to forgive my memory. Something you'll get used to from me. :? ) :D

John, I have the highest admiration for the folks who just know all the things it's taken me years to either hear when told, or figure out. They may seem obvious, but until it rings true for me, I meander all over the place, for decades. I have an exceptionally long learning curve, but I can get there. Mountains of flies tied with what seemed appropriate bodies or hackles or hooks, whatever, and then it all shifts when I finally get a key concept clear. I may not be the worst offender in that regard, but I certainly among to the top in the field. :D

That's a great Hendy pic. I'm pining to get on some water but your post has put the wheels in motion and now all I'm thinking about is wing length and webby hackles and hook gauges. I love this stuff.

John - Do you have any reference photos for the Brown Drake? The Hendrickson photo was terrific!

There are some Flymph threads in SBS section, think they may help with some of your questions.
Here's an example; http://flymphforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3937

That, good sir Hank, was a fun memory lane re-read. Thanks for the memories 8-)

Which leads me to....

Hey Ray, ready now to record/post that video? You have been straddling that fence for so long, surely your inner thighs are well and truly chafed now, no?

*chuckle*

Until Ray gets his act together you may have to make do with some of mine LOL

So, the video..... was that on the Namekagon River, about midway between Earl and Springbrook, both west of Hayward? Standing there at the canoe put-in, looking a bit upstream? Hmmmm didn't see you out there!
