I’ll probably be flogged for this but I took some liberties since I didn’t have the right STUFF.

Liberties or not, I like it. It looks so crisp, so all I have to say is, well done.

Nice looking fly. Taking liberties is what might make a more effective fly.

Have you ever tied on a Daiichi 1640? Now it's being touted as a tube fly hook, but at one time they were just coarse fishing hooks, almost identical to the Drennon hooks suggested by Donald Nicholson. I've been using them for years for my spiders. Light wire, 2XS. My avatar fly is tied on one.

Thank you Ron. No I haven’t tried the Daiichi 1640. Next time I order hooks to restock I’ll try some.
