Honey Dun March Browns

Post by joaniebo » Sun Mar 07, 2021 5:08 pm

I love my March Brown dubbing mix, so I tied up a few and then did a squashed scan. The hackle has a dark dun color near the stem and really nice honey colored tips

Oh man those flies are awesome!

Where did you find get the hen neck?

Can you share the recipe for your dubbing blend?

Got this hen skin and virtually all the others that I have (except for a half dozen os so from Conranch Hackles) from Dave Roberts at the Feather Emporium.

The dubbing is made from some Natural Hare's Ear dubbing plus some fur from a Hare's Mask that I dyed red with a Pantone marker. These were then mixed with Red and Natural colored Hare's Ear Plus dubbings.
