rib ....... red wire
body ..... magpie tail barbs, iridescent black
hackle ... two turns of webby feather, picked up from margin of Indian cock cape, iridescent black

Wow, those are especially nice. I've tied with some magpie tail herls and I can appreciate the quality of those. These are both very nice combinations of materials. I think I'm partial to the slenderness of the second pic, but the mass of that first one is going to be a great fly as well.

good idea! Actually, I've some red&green, but... There are some serious snowing here at the time, so light is not so good for taking a picture. What about hackle colour for The Christmas wingless wet? ...any suggestions? :)

Just a quick thought, anything with green an white striping, like a Christmas tree with snow or white garlnad on it... then add in your red & green twords the bend...
just sayin' ...
