Revisiting this; your tying makes the most of this hook. Scruffy, deadly, stylish without being elegant. Wish I were a trout!

I like the dubbing rough, and the hare's ear blend I used here still allows a tight twist to give some segmentation.

If a hook can be called "inspiring," the 14723 is. The gape on this hook, especially for an 18, is phenomenal, and the sharpness is superb. It begs to be used.

It's hard to tie a bad fly on the 14723, the lines are perfect. I even tie light czech nymphs (an oxymoron, I know-for low water) on them and they look great. Nice tie.
