Which would you like in a swap?

Post by Liam » Mon Mar 09, 2009 9:03 pm

I am tying flies for a swap here in Maryland. The theme is flies that can be swung- so softies and flymphs fit right in. I want to do a take on a classic that I haven't seen yet, so I thought I would get everybody's opinion. The first is a little more lightly dressed, the second is just a bit more. Which one would you like to receive in a swap? I would love to hear your preference for your waters! As always, comments, criticism, and insight are appreciated.

I usually do not tie tails on my wingless wets, however I do like the look of #2 much better.

What he said.

Also, since my waters are your waters, if you're going to imitate one of our March Browns, I'd go a hook size or maybe even two larger. (I did actually see a few March Browns on the GP last year.)

Add another vote for the second fly.

Either would be fine by me. Both would work equally well.

I like the first fly, not quite so busy. IMHO

Liam - I also like #2 better, but won't be at all disappointed with either when I open my G.F. swap bag ... Bill
