very nice fly and i will add it to my collection of fly recipes

but since you tied it with "silver" thread and "silver" badger, why the reference to "gold" :?:

Norm, the "thread" is Gutermann's sliver (not a typo) which is a clear plastic.
The reference to gold is from the hook which is gold.

That really is one beautiful fly. Love the badger hackle with the thread and hook combo.

To soften the photo next time drape a white tissue or a thin piece of cloth over the flash. Han's might have a better idea but I have used that when photographing flowers.
