Nothin' to it C.B. Mike has been there with good service for a good 10 yrs. now i'd say.....he gets things in, not every fly shop has, and most never even think about. He's also an excellant tyer.

I was especially careful in wrapping the tag and ribbing-actually counter-ribbing. Sometimes, you get it right. This time was pretty close, but it does not happen often.

C.B. i just remembered the Varivas guy was at the show in England last year.....he gave us a bunch of hooks.....i can scrounge around and see if i can find his info and put you in touch if i find it.....i'll give it a go. Stay tuned here.......... Ok.....if you go here, http://www.thespringflyfishingshow.com You'll be able to navigate you way to Varivas.....but it's quicker to just Google Varivas and then click on the listing (just a few from the top, scroll down a bit) that says The Spring Fly Fishing Show. That'll take you right to the Varivas page.....in terms of their involvment with the show. When we were there ('09).....the guy would come by our table every couple hours with more hooks. He gave us a bunch of different models. i was talkin' with him, tryin' to get him to do a blind eye Salmon fly hook design for me.....but it's almost impossible to get them to do that unless they think they can sell thousands of them. They seemed to be one of the major sponsers of the show, so they must be back in full operation. Anyway, i think they're based in England now.....even though the hooks are made in Japan. Good luck.

Great pattern Mark! I tye a version of that with pen reared partridge (smaller finer feathers) Hackle with the same for the tail.
Pearsals dark claret silk body and fine copper or fine brass wire rib with a small Chocolate or dun thorax of Hareline or Wapsi dubbing. Size 14 to 12 . I like the pen reared prtrdg because the smaller hackles on the bottom of the breast area Have fine speckles that often have a blue-gray dun shading.

I've been using the TMC 206BL. Basically the same hook as Mark used, just a different manufacturer. The final finish of the hook is a little more dull on the TMC version. Great hhok up rate on both the Grip and TMC versions.
