Dark Teal and Pheasant

Dark Teal & Pheasant

Hook: 3399A
Thread: Black
Hackle: Iridescent hackle of the same color as the body taken from the head or neck area of a cock ring-neck pheasant.
Body: A strand of Kreinik Silk Serica color #4046-Dark Teal wrapped with no tying thread under it.

I've always been fascinated by those iridescent feathers on the ring-neck cock. I thought it would make a great hackle. You can't see it in the photo, but the hackle color & body color are the same.

Mark,

That looks great. Does the silk come close to that iridescent blue? I love that color. I'm looking for something that will come close to the iridescent green of a magpie tail.

Ron,
Check-out Kreinik's web site. The silk Serica comes in many colors. It is very similar to other silk flosses I've used and comes in loads of colors.
