Ginger and Cream Palmer:

• Hook: #16-10 Mustad R30 (2xf) or R50 (std)
• Thread: 12/0 Benecchi pale yellow
• Tail: Golden pheasant tippet shank length
• Rear Hackle: Ginger hen cape
• Fore Hackle: Cream hen cape
• Head: Thread

This is a multi-purpose fly (as so many of my fishing flies are). It's useful for PED, ginger caddis, yellow sally, and some sulfer hatches, but it works well as a general searching pattern. I tie about three other variations of this fly using the bi-visible formula (Black/Ginger, Dun/Black, Cream/Ginger) and one "Adams" mixed version (Grizzly and natural red palmered together). I sometimes add an orange head and dress it a little more lightly for a spinner fall.

Question - Would this fly be considered a bumble? The construction looks very similar to me, but my bumble knowledge is quite limited.

I missed your question earlier...

No. Not a bumble as such, though a lot of these fully palmered wet flies share the same general construction. The fly above shares more in common with the bivisible than anything--i.e. no body material as such, and close almost touching turns. I've tied it as pictured above and also with the cream in the centre, but it seems the fish don't mind.
